We operate in a very attractive work environment and a great overall package will be offered to the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be provided with extensive training. It is a requirement that the selected project manager / researcher be able to pick up the established work processes and project requirements, as well as be able to deliver independently within the first three months of their hiring. This position is for part-time engagement.

Job Title: Project Manager / Researcher in the field of Sports

Duties and Responsibilities of the role

  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare reports
  • Conduct fieldwork research (interviews, survey research, observations, focus groups)
  • Prepare data collection instruments, collect and analyze data
  • Design training and/or learning materials for face-to-face, blended, and online delivery
  • Develop and/or contribute to the development of project results and deliverables
  • Deliver trainings in certain areas of expertise
  • Facilitate the organization of workshops and dissemination activities
  • Manage and monitor projects and offer administrative support for research projects
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the team and external partners to successfully complete deliverables and project activities
  • Prepare research proposals, grant applications, and tenders
  • Travel abroad for project meetings, events, and conferences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following areas: Sports and Exercise Science, Sport Science and Physical Education, Public Health, and related fields.
  • Master’s degree in any of the following areas: Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, and areas as listed above.
  • Excellent spoken knowledge of English and Greek
  • Excellent academic writing skills in English and Greek
  • Results-oriented and able to work independently to complete assigned projects
  • Goal-oriented and hard-working
  • Ability to demonstrate communication and soft skills aptitude
  • Willing and able to acquire and share knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Great ability to network and represent the organization and its values
  • Passion to work with sport issues
  • Excellent character

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in managing European Commission funded projects (at least 1 year)
  • Proven project management experience
  • Proven experience in scholarly writing (provide list of publications, or Orcid ID / Researcher ID / Other ID)
  • Experience in the preparation of research proposals, grant applications, and tenders
  • Good knowledge of project management principles (preferably certified in one of the Project Management tools, such as Prince, MS etc.)
  • Prior involvement in research and sport initiatives

  • Probation: All our employment contracts comply with the Cyprus labor law
